Spatially-explicit Energy and LAnd system InfrastRUcture (SELARU)

Spatially-explicit Energy and LAnd system InfrastRUcture (SELARU) is a modelling framework using Mixed-Integer Linear Programming approach. It has the unique feature of incorporating spatial information into energy system representation and its decision-making process. Such a feature allows a more accurate depiction of energy infrastructure investment decision in a highly complex and geographically diverse environment such as Indonesia.

SELARU can be used to depict existing energy system or other hypothetical energy systems that represent specific policy directions/narratives. Analysis over various energy system depictions provides quantitative scientific evidence for policy deliberation/recommendations.
